By following this link, you can see where I have quickly attempted to make a vodcast to assist a nonprofit organization in other forms of communicating with a customer.
Programs and Application used:
The printing feature in Powerpoint is the key to this project. One can print the actual slides and have a book type format to hand out to customers, students ect.
The original Powerpoint was emailed to me, I downloaded it and previewed it. The goal was to create a tool that would allow the owners of a ranch to identify the weeds in order to manage or irradicate them. It can be effective as it is when printed as a “slide” this feature will print on a full sheet of paper.
One feature of Powerpoint is that one can insert a picture and that picture can fill the whole slide. In the notes section the details and explainations can be displayed. This is another clean and predictable feature of Powerpoint, meaning that the picture is always in the same place on a page, same size, with a title and predictable explanations to follow.
I used Jing.com the free download to record my explanations and to demonstrate as I talk about what I was doing. I can view on my PC but struggled getting it so the nonprofit organization could see it. So uploaded it to Screencast.com and there I can embed it into a Wiki, share the URL though this blog and more.
Wow all that with free applications, my mind is racing – how can I use this efficently and effectively in the classroom?
How did it work, how did my use of technology help in communicating the two different features in Powerpoint?
